The Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival is an annual celebration of  the region's blue, pink, and white signature flowers and  everything gardens on Cape Cod! This ten-day festival will be held July 7-July 16, 2023.  

  

Whelden Memorial Library is one of the nonprofits participating in the Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival and we are looking for gardens!

 

There will be a $5 entrance fee per person per garden. Proceeds will benefit Whelden Memorial Library.

 

Highlights include daily tours of private gardens, each  designed and maintained by the individual homeowners and  carrying a unique charm. You are sure to enjoy such eclectic spaces, not to mention the good feeling of supporting Whelden Memorial Library.

Programming and Circulation Associate

We're looking for qualified applicants for the position of Programming and Circulation Associate.

This is a part-time, 19-hour per week position. Candidates must be able to work evenings and Saturdays. Schedule is flexible. This person will plan and implement adult library programming and assist the Youth Services Associate with children’s programming. Position reports directly to the Library Director.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to: Communication and outreach to Barnstable residents regarding available programming. Planning, coordinating, scheduling, and staffing programs. Managing event registration, setup, breakdown, and evaluation. Providing technical support to patrons as needed or by appointment. May be asked to provide coverage at the circulation desk.

 

A strong candidate will have the ability to adapt to new technologies, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, interest in collaborating with other community organizations and community members, and strong organizational skills.

 

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have a High School diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred).
  • One to three years of related experience is preferred.
  • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.), Sierra, Canva, and Google Suite preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to perform duties off-site required. 

Salary:

$18/hr
