What are the hours for curbside service?
Curbside Service is available Monday from 3pm -7 pm; Tuesday from 10am-2pm; Wednesday from 3pm-7pm; Friday from 10am-2pm; and Saturday 10am-1pm. We will be closed Sundays and Thursdays.
Can I go into the building and browse?
At this time, we are not letting members of the public in to browse.  If you need to use the computers, you must arrange a time and must be masked.
Is it safe to use curbside service?
We will be following extensive safety measures to ensure the health of our patrons and staff.  All employees will wear personal protective equipment as required by State Orders, will practice social distancing at all times, and will frequently disinfect equipment and high contact surfaces to minimize transmission of COVID-19. Recently returned circulating materials are held in quarantine for three days before checking in prior to recirculation among the general public.
How can I get items for pick-up?
There are three ways you can take advantage of curbside service: 
By browsing the catalog and placing holds on your account at for materials held by Whelden Memorial Library only (there is no interlibrary delivery at this time);
Calling the library at 508-362-2262 and leaving your name and number if we are not open for a return call. Please do not leave book titles on the answering machine;
Emailing or with a list of books and a phone number to schedule book pick-up.
5. How soon can I pick up my holds?
 You will receive phone notification from a staff member letting you know when your holds are ready and with instructions on how to come pick them up. Please wait until you receive this phone call before coming to pick up materials. Having your holds ready for you ahead of time will help us provide efficient service for you, allowing you to pick your materials without worry.
6. When will my items be due?
Your items will be due two weeks after checkout.  There will be no fines during the Covid-19 outbreak. CLAMS now automatically renews your materials unless there are holds placed on those materials.  If you have any questions, please contact the library at 508-362-2262.
7. How do I return items?
Items need to be returned to our book drop at the front of the building.  This way, we are able to quarantine items for the necessary period before checking items back into the collection.
8. When are my other items due that I checked out before the library closed?
Those are due back June 30, 2020. However, if you need more time, you can always renew those items. 
9. How can I get a new Library card?
You can always sign up for a digital card on the CLAMS website or you can call the library at 508-362-2262 and we will help you.
10. I have donations of books I would like to drop off. When can I do that?
The short answer is not now. While we do have a small book sale going, we do not have the storage for more used books at this time. Thank you for thinking of us.

The good news is that our digital library is open 24/7.  You can access it by going to (which is the online catalog for the Cape libraries) or going to and click on Resources tab. There you can access Overdrive and our state databases. Databases are really just libraries online! We have general databases and specialized databases, just like we have specialized libraries and regular libraries.  The state has purchased these for your use.  If you like military history, science, horticulture, cooking or home improvement - there is a database for you! Check out the latest in health and wellness or look to make a career transition.  It’s all there in the state database collection!
You can also access Overdrive with our extensive collection of ebooks and audiobooks. If you download the Libby app onto your device, you can take those items with you wherever you go.
